What Does a New York Apostille Look Like?

An apostille is an official certificate used to authenticate an eligible public document for use in another country that participates in the Hague Apostille Convention.

Official certification: The apostille is issued by the appropriate government authority after the underlying document has satisfied the required route.
Document requirements vary: The correct process depends on the document type, issuing authority, signatures, certification, and destination country.
LINS reviews the route: Submit your document information and LINS will determine the appropriate Apostille or legalization service before payment.
Example shown: This image is provided as a visual example of a New York Apostille. Appearance, seals, signatures, attachment method, and processing route can vary depending on the document and issuing authority.

Apostille Request Questions

Common questions about submitting your request before payment.

Do I pay when I submit the request?

No. Initial Apostille Request submission does not require payment. LINS reviews the request first and sends a payment request only after approval.

What if I do not know which service I need?

That is fine. Select the option asking LINS to recommend the best service. Your document type, destination country, format, and deadline will be reviewed before the final service is confirmed.

Can I upload my document for review?

If the upload option is available in the request form, you may securely include a document for review. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive material.

What if my document was already rejected?

Select the rejection option in the form and provide the reason if known. This helps LINS review what may need to be corrected before the next submission.

What happens after LINS approves my request?

Once the request is approved, LINS sends the payment request through the existing payment and appointment system. Your original request remains linked to that workflow.

Can I book and pay immediately instead?

If you already know the service you need and want the direct booking workflow, you may use the Fast Apostille page. The Apostille Request page is designed for customers who want document and routing review before payment.
